about us
FishDog Farm, founded and operated by Alex Dallman and Nick Kleeman, is a regenerative, pasture-based livestock operation in Walton, Oregon. We raise multispecies livestock: pasture-raised poultry, grass-fed and finished lamb and beef, pigs in silvopasture, and outdoor-grown shiitake mushrooms using soil-first, ecologically sound practices that improve biodiversity and strengthen the local food system. Our mission is to model a financially resilient path for small-scale regenerative agriculture, nourish our community, and protect our local ecosystem.

Our Mission
FishDog Farm’s goal is to model a financially viable path for regenerative agriculture using rotational grazing and soil-first practices that build biodiversity, shorten food chains, and enrich the community. Guided by integrity, craftsmanship, and transparency, we produce clean, traceable food that reflects true costs, fair wages, and respect for the people and ecosystems that sustain us. By partnering locally and maintaining humane workloads, we strive to create a farm that is both environmentally restorative and economically resilient.
Our Vision
We envision a future where regional farms thrive by producing the highest-quality food within living systems that support long-term ecosystem health. Understory Farms aims to help redefine what agricultural success looks like, where soil health, farmer well-being, and community access to nutritious food are inseparable. Our long-term vision is a local food economy rooted in transparency, ecological restoration, and fairness, where people in our community know their farmers by name.
